Why?
In the name SplitShire is hidden the philosophy which gave birth to this whole project. The idea behind the concept is the symbiosis of two words. Where “shire” represents the county, a closed environment, for a few, in this case related to copyright and “split” which represents sharing a piece of this county with everyone.
I created SplitShire with the simple aim of giving life to photographs that would have gone into oblivion without any utility. So I started uploading the first 100 high-resolution photos you could freely download and use for personal and commercial purposes.
Now these photographs, which were previously living in the darkest corners of the hard drive, live on websites such as the Huffington Post, CNN, Books Covers, Magazines and thousands of websites/blogs.
I want to personally thank you for stopping by my site SplitShire, where I share all my personal footage for free to the public.
So far, since the time of this writing, we have had over 2,000,000 downloads and over 6,000,000 page views. It just makes me feel great in so many ways.
