Leo Learns a Lesson about Greed

Boy Stuck in Jar while Grabbing Cashew Nuts

Prompt

The Boy and the Cashew Nuts A young boy named Leo loved cashew nuts more than anything. One day, his mother placed a tall glass jar filled with nuts on the kitchen counter. "You may have some," she said, "but don't be greedy, or you'll find yourself in a tight spot." Leo, ignored the warning, reached deep into the jar and grabbed a massive handful. He tried to pull his hand out, but the neck of the jar was too narrow. His fist, bulging with nuts, was stuck. He pulled and pulled, but his hand wouldn't budge. Frustrated and hurt, Leo began to cry. He didn't want to let go of a single nut, but he couldn't get his hand out while holding them all. His father, watching from the doorway, said gently, "Son, give up half of those nuts. You’ll find your hand comes out easily, and you’ll still have plenty to enjoy." Leo reluctantly dropped half the nuts back into the jar. Immediately, his hand slipped out. He realized that by trying to take too much at once, he almost ended up with nothing at all. The Moral Greed often leads to loss. It is better to be content with a sensible amount than to lose everything by reaching for too much. Would you like me to find a story on a specific theme, such as honesty, hard work, or friendship?
